Amie Wilcox-Smith (singer/song-writer/oboist)
Amie Wilcox-Smith was born on August 11th 1978 in Maidstone, England. She started singing in choirs at the age of 9 and started playing oboe at the age of 11. Throughout her school years she excelled in music and graduated from school with an A grade in A level music and grade 8 oboe from the Royal School of Music. She then completed a BA music degree at the University of Sussex in 1999. After a few indecisive years, which included taking further training as a music teacher, Amie decided her future lay in writing and recording her own music. This is when she met Xenophon Xenios, who shared her musical vision, and LightProject was born. Together Amie and Xenophon wrote several songs focusing on light and freedom of emotion, many of which are yet to be recorded. The sound of Lightproject was finalised at the recording studio where Xenophon and Amie met producer and guitarist George Simatos. In 2007 they finished recording their debut album "Many a Summer" which includes the tracks
Beside You, Waiting Here, Final Dawn, Without Love, and
Lies. For additional music and information about Lightproject please go to:
